This Blu-ray release has easily become one of my favorites from Scream Factory and I look forward to diving into more of the special features in the near future.

The majority of this film follows Leslie as he gets everything ready at his childhood home, where high school seniors spend the night once a year. For our families, those little choices made when our children are still small will either good or bad, come back to either affect us or bless us when we are older. Small decisions made have huge impacts later on in life. It made me reflect on my own relationship with my father as well as my relationship with my son. And it’s hilarious to watch him casually prepare for his night of murderous mischief. Behind The Mask really changed my life in so many ways. These legendary Marvel creations and stories have not only reflected the world outside our window they have become a reflection of our own identities and who we truly are. Besides his inclination for killing folk though, Vernon is the humble everyman. A documentary special that explores the power of identity behind the iconic superheroes we know and love today. Ignoring the fact that Leslie Vernon died as a child, Taylor and her crew simply accept that the subject they’re interviewing is the real deal: some type of resurrected monster hell-bent on revenge.
